Chicken Rice
Chicken Rice is a popular dish amongst Singaporean and it can be found at almost everywhere from coffeeshops to hawker centres and restaurants. It is delicious and affordable and has been one of Singaporean’s favourite dishes.

Chilli Crab
Chill Crab is a crab dish that is stirred fried and cooked fresh with the Chill Crab sauce which is moderately spicy, sweet and tangy. The Chill Crab sauce is creamy and thick with tomatoes and chill paste and can be dipped with buns that can be either fried or steamed. The dished is enjoyed by hand by breaking open the crab shell to enjoy the tender crab meat.

Fish Head Curry
A delicacy in Asia, the fish head curry is a spicy dish that cooks the fish head with south india curry. Different ethnic groups have their own unique way of cooking the curry, some would add coconut milk for a creamier texture while others would add tamarind paste for slight sourness. But the common thing across all these curries is the use of red snapper, accompanied with different types of vegetable like eggplant and lady finger. To experience the curry in a more adventurous way, one could try out the fish eye!

Fried Carrot Cake
At first read, its name gives the impression that it’s somewhat like a cake but actually it’s made up of a mixture of white flour and white radish. Afterwards it is steamed and sliced into rectangular cubes and it is then fried with simple ingredients like eggs, garlic and preserved radish that is also known as “chai poh”

There are 2 versions to this dish the white version, that is the original version and the black version that uses dark soya sauce to fry with the carrot cake.

Fried Kway Teow
This wok-fried noodle dish is cooked under high heat to give the wok taste. Seafood such as prawns and cockles are added in to spice up the taste.

Hokkien Prawn Mee
Hokkien prawn mee commonly known as hokkien mee, is a common dish that appears in almost all of the hawker centres. The mouth-watering dish is mainly made up of yellow noodles and thick vermicelli, with savoury ingredients like squid, egg, pork belly and that adds additional level to the dish. To add additional zest to the dish, lime and chilli could be added.

Kaya Toast
The perfect combination to go with any type of coffee or tea. The Kaya toast is slices of toasted bread that has a thick layer of kaya that is top with a golden yellow butter on it. Often it is paired with a runny delicious soft boil egg by dipping the bread into the egg. Soya sauce and pepper could also be added to enhance the overall flavour.

Laksa
The laksa broth is a mix of coconut milk and spices mixed to get the perfect thick and spicy broth. White vermicelli noodles are added with ingredients such as fishcake, cockles and prawn.

Nasi Lemak is a popular Malay dish in Singapore. It is a hearty dish that is liked and craved by many Singaporeans. Nasi Lemak in English means rice.
