L32 Geylang Handmade Noodles

Ban mian, with its piping hot soup and QQ noodles, is irresistible even in Singapore’s heat. L32 makes all their noodles fresh to order. The soup here is boiled for up to ten hours with anchovies, starring a clean sweetness, enhanced by vegetable stems.



Casa Kumi

Casa Kumi offers the best value for money when it comes to a private home dining experience. Previous workshops have cost only $33 per person, and they are also halal! The Japanese Cemetery Park is located near the Hougang area. It was built in 1891 by the Japanese and serves as the resting place for the 1000 civilians and soldiers during the pre-war years. It is decorated with the beautiful pink floral archways that that is reminiscent of sakura season in Japan.

This shrine was built by the Japanese during WWII to commemorate their fellow soldiers who fell during their battle in Malaya. Fun Fact, this shrine is the 2nd greatest Shinto Shrine ever built, only falling behind Japan's Meiji Shrine.

Since its inauguration, the museum has expanded its collection, amassing well over 50,000 items, 8,500 of which are on display in the museum. The toys and items hail from over 40 countries and range in date from the 1840s to 1980s.

Do you seek strange and creepy places or an explorer of all places that are restricted and possibly haunted? Then head down to the Istana Woodneuk. Once owned by a Sultan of Johor, the building has long been abandoned what was once a extravagant building has been reclaimed by nature.

While nasi ambeng is making a comeback in the heartlands, Mamanda's original version of this festive Javanese dish is still our favorite. The restaurant's regal surroundings – it is housed in a mansion erected in 1840 that was previously home to Tengku Mahmud – befit this traditional dinner of various meats and vegetables served in a dulang (tray) and surrounded by a big mould of rice.

Tingkat PeraMakan serves traditional Peranakan meals at a lower cost. Its SG$10 to SG$15 set meal, which includes a main course, two side dishes, a drink, and dessert, is a steal. You can also get Peranakan classics such as Sambal Sotong (squid fried in chili paste) and Ayam Buak Keluak.
