Stop. Go. Gowhere?

Liao Fan Hawker Chan
Chef Chan Hon Meng grew up in a kampong in Ipoh, Malaysia, where his parents were farmers. His family ran a farm where they reared livestock and grew crops. Chef Chan's culinary experience began while he was preparing meals for his family on a regular basis. His interest in cooking grew as a result of his early exposure to it.
Chef Chan's culinary passion was founded on the concept that good food should be made easy and accessible to all. He left school and his birthplace at the tender age of 15 to seek job in Singapore. He studied and perfected the soya sauce chicken dish during his early years as an apprentice to a Hong Kong chef. Chef Chan first opened Liao Fan Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle in the Chinatown Complex Food Centre in 2009.
