The thick rice vermicelli noodles and the coconut-rich laksa gravy are the distinguishing features of Katong Laksa. When you combine these ingredients with plump shrimp, fish cakes, and fresh clams (or cockles), with the aroma of curry leaves, you have a bowl of world renowned Katong laksa. Ms Nancy Koh, the founder of Katong Laksa, spent six months perfecting the recipe via numerous rounds of trial and error. In Singapore's 45-year history of laksa, Katong Laksa has been a well-known favorite for the previous 22 years and was highly frequented by locals in 2001.
