Rojak

A mix of fruits and vegetables just like Singapore the tropical paradise, a truly Singaporean dish. Toppled and mixed with prawn sauce paste and crushed peanuts for the best taste.

Rojak means mixed in Malay which is a dish made up of mixed cut fruits and vegetables. Toppled and mixed with prawn sauce paste, ginger flower, crushed peanut, sugar and lime for the best taste. Base on one’s preference chilli paste is added for the extra spiciness in the dish.

Fruits and vegetables added may vary, but they are usually water spinach, beansprout, cucumber and Chinese turnip, sliced pineapple, mangoes or unripe rose apples, fried dough fritters and toasted bean curd.

Singapore Famous Rojak is on the MICHELIN Guide’s Point of View. With the recipe pass-down from the first generation to second generation owners, the stall serves local-style salad with a homemade sauce which makes the dish so special.

Balestier Road Hoover Rojak is on the MICHELIN Guide’s Point of View. It is a Singaporeans style fruit salad with fresh ingredients such as lime, sugars fruit and vegetable chunks such as pineapples, cucumber, turnip, tau pok (bean curd), apples, and the all-important you tiao (Fried-fritters) and topped with fermented prawn paste sauce.

Rojak‧Popiah & Cockle on the MICHELIN Guide’s Point of View. There are only 3 dish available at the store. The signature dish is the Rojak which uses fresh cut fruits cut on the spot and prawn paste sauce for seasoning allowing a very nice taste dish for supper.
