Fort Canning Park

Imagine being in a historical area in Singapore in which Malay royalty dominated in historical times, the British giving up and surrendering to the Japanese during the second world war.

Fort Canning Park is one of Singapore's oldest historic landmarks. It is located in the central region of Singapore. The hill is accessible from Orchard Road. It is situated just behind the National Museum of Singapore.

The park was previously known as Bukit Larangan, or in Malay, it means 'Forbidden Hill'. Fort Canning Park spans 18-hectare and has many attractions, such as from historical artefacts of buffs to lawns for live shows, and of course, greenery for nature lovers.

Alight at Fort Canning Station (Exit B), Clarke Quay Station (Exit E) or Dhoby Ghaut Station (Exit B).

Fort Canning Station: Come out from Exit B, turn left to Jubilee Park.

Clarke Quay Station: Come out from Exit E, turn left and walk along Coleman Bridge. Turn left again at the end of Coleman Bridge and head towards the pedestrian overhead bridge (100m away) along River Valley Road. Cross the overhead bridge and you will enter Fort Canning Park.

Dhoby Ghaut Station: Come out from Exit B, cross Penang Road, turn left and keep a lookout for the tunnel leading to Fort Canning Park.
