Former Ford Factory

The Former Ford Factory was the same site where the British Colonial Government surrendered Singapore to the Japanese on 15 February 1942. The building opened in 1941 as a Ford car assembly plant in Southeast Asia. This Museum shows the timeline and details leading to the surrender to the Japanese, the hardship faced in the 3 years of the Japanese occupation and the aftermath and effects of the war. Most importantly, tourists and visitors will visit the same boardroom where the British surrounded the Japanese on 15 February 1942.

The Former Ford Factory is currently a gazette as a national monument since 2006.
