Changi Chapel and Museum

The Changi Chapel and Museum showcase the events that occurred during the Japanese Occupation from 1942 to 1945. The Museum showcase the developments of Changi from the 1800s to 1920, the fall of Singapore to the Japanese in 1942 and the conditions and lives of soldiers and POW who were imprisoned in Changi during the war. Exhibitions showcasing artefacts of how the lives of the people were after the war.

Reconstructions and reenactment allows visitors to feel the crowded and small cells were inmates where kept allowing a live feel of the inmates daily lives then and their living conditions. The museum also houses the archives of the stories of the POWs and civilians who were in the prison to ensure their experience and stories will be passed down for the future generations to not make the same mistakes.

You may alight at Upper Changi Station (DT34) on the Downtown Line, then transit to bus no. 2 at Upper Changi Station/Opposite SUTD stop (96041). You will get off 7 stops later at Opposite Changi Chapel Museum stop (97201) and cross the road to reach the museum.
